Disc cutters are made for jewelers and are recommended for cutting soft precious metals, such as copper, brass, gold and silver up to 18 gauge thick. Other jewelry metals such as nickel silver can also be cut using care and common sense. All of these sets are very well made using specially hardened tool steel having sharp edges and extremely close tolerances. Disc cutter sets can be disassembled to help remove punches that become stuck in the cut metal.
